Two variants of OnePlus X launched ; Priced at $199 and $249 !

After the launch of two high-end, pocket-friendly flagship devices,  Chinese smartphone manufacturer - OnePlus decided to up the ante, by launching the latest smartphone - The OnePlus X in India today. This is their second device in the year 2015. Yes I know, at the first look, one can resemble it to an iPhone 4 or an iPhone 5, but it is much more awesome.

The OnePlus X features :

  1. 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display
  2. Quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor (Which we found in Xperia Z3 and LG G3)
  3. Adreno 330 GPU
  4. 3GB RAM
  5. 2525 mAh battery
  6. Two sim-card slots
  7. 13-megapixel primary camera with f/2.2 aperture and AutoFocus (not 4K though) and an 7.6-megapixel secondary camera.
  8. Oxygen OS running Android Lollipop 5.1.1.

The OnePlus X is the first 'Make In India' device; the local production starting in Hyderabad. It has two variants:
  • Onyx - Priced at INR 16,999 ( $199 )
  • Ceramic - Priced at INR 23,999 ( $ 249 ) ( Limited Edition for European customers )

This device is packed beautifully, with Gorilla Glass cornering, Glass back( for the ceramic version ), and an Alert Slider on the left side of the device. The co-founder Carl Pei said," We still don't have a way of categorizing this device. We are never going to make a $100 or $150 phone. Our goal is to make really great products, and we cannot afford to make using such materials".

If you are one of those people who do not like the big-screen smartphones like the iPhone 6S and the Nexus 6P, you are going to love this device , with an option op cheap device. This device doesn't include the USB-C port and the Fingerprint sensor like the OnePlus Two, well obviously considering the price. The Snapdragon 801 still lags a little bit behind the Snapdragon 808. There won't be a 32 GB or 64 GB model. Pei adds," The incremental benefit of adding super high specifications on phone is decreasing".

The dual-sim slot is now upgraded. You can either insert two SIM cards or use one slot as a SIM and the other slot for external storage via microSD, expandable upto 128 GB. Cool, ain't it ??

Now comes the important part : How to get one of this device ?
Well, it's the same invite system all over again !( Yes, I know it's awful ). But OnePlus has promised faster invites this time. The Onyx version will go on sale in India on November 5, 2105. The Ceramic one will be very limited. Only 10,000 invites will go out ! This device will go on sale on November 24, 2015.

The official video for the device :

I'll definitely update blog with latest update of this device soon. Peace !
