Samsung Galaxy Note 8 set to launch in India today | Livestream time, expected price & more

The Korean tech giant Samsung, unveiled its flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 8 last month in New York. The company’s first device with dual camera setup made quite an impression on the customers as it came as a successor to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7. The device will launch in India today, as the company has set an event for 12:30PM in New Delhi. Check the livestream on the official website.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 sports a 6.3-inch QHD+ (1440 x 2960 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 521ppi. The device is powered by either Snapdragon 835 SoC or Exynos 8895 SoC. The Exynos-powered variant is expected to land in India with the octa-core chip clocked at 2.3GHz (four cores) and 1.7GHz (four cores). The device has 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage options with a memory card slot (hybrid) as well. The dual camera on the back has a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with Dual Pixel Autofocus and f/1.7 aperture along with another 12-megapixel telephoto lens with autofocus and f/2.4 aperture. An 8-megapixel camera sensor with autofocus is used on the front for selfies and video calls.

Connectivity options on the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, and USB Type-C port. The smartphone also has biometric unlocking features like the fingerprint scanner, facial recognition, and iris scanner. The device is powered by a 3,300 mAh battery and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. The expected price of the device is Rs.60,000 in India.
