At an event in Beijing, China, Xiaomi has finally unveiled the company’s Mi MIX 2 smartphone along with the Mi Note 3 and a Mi Notebook Pro laptop. The device arrives as a successor to the Xiaomi Mi MIX, which was launched last year. Now, let’s take a look at the device itself.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 sports a 7-series aluminum frame with a ceramic body, which is curved on all the four edges at the back. The device sports a 5.99-inch display with FullHD+ resolution (2160 x 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core chipset clocked at 2.35GHz, the device packs up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

As for the camera, the device sports a single 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 sensor with a 1.25um pixel and 4-axis OIS. A 5-megapixel snapper sits on the front for selfies and video calls. A fingerprint scanner rests just below the camera module on the back, which is also protected by an ultra-slim protection case (provided free with the package). The device is powered by a 3,400 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. Unlike the predecessor, the Mi MIX 2 doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack.
